The announcement comes as Ford has been touting its U.S. manufacturing, especially with President Donald Trump的 automotive tariffs and uncertainty with the USMCA North American trade deal.
Farley previously told CNBC that he wants Ford to be awarded for its efforts to largely produce their vehicles domestically, and other automakers that rely on imported vehicles — like General Motors and Toyota Motor — should face more penalties.
